Food & Water
Food: We feed our rabbits an unlimited amount of food their whole lives. As long as they self-portion them self’s. If they begin to look over weight you will want to measure you rabbit’s food out and feed him/her twice a day; 1/4 cup in the evening and 1/4 cup in the morning.
Water: Always have clean fresh water daily for your rabbit, make sure he has access to it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Cheek to make sure your water bottle is operating correctly often!
HANDLING:
You want to handle your rabbit at least once a day, because this keeps him friendly and calm around people. You should never pick a rabbit up by his ears! To pick him up properly slide one of your hands behind his two front paws, and your other hand behind his back and lift him to your body so he feels safe. Also Look this up on Wiki how because they have some great info and pics on how to handle a rabbit.
Nail Clipping:
Normally you should clip your rabbits nails once a month. flip your bunny over on your lap, then make sure you have cat nail clippers and a flashlight handy. Shine the flashlight on your bunny's nails you will see his/her vein running through the nail, YOU don’t want to cut the vein!!! If you do your rabbit could bleed out. Clip just in front of the vein and then move on to the next nail. Also you should have some styptic powder on hand in case you accidently cut into their vein, you can find styptic powder at a pet store. STYPTIC POWDER stops bleeding.
Grooming:
You need to groom you Holland Lop’s fur weekly with a soft tipped comb, that will not scratch you skin if you run it across your hand. We have a video on rabbit conditioning on our Facebook page, check that out for more information.
